The Centre of Expertise for Energy Efficiency at Cargill in Bergen op Zoom developed an intranet platform in which plant managers could compare their energy performance with their peers.
The magnitude of Gargill’s operations provides sufficient data to incentivise plant managers to improve their energy consumption with benchmarking. It incentivises plant managers to become the best in class within the company, while on the other hand reveals differences between plants and facilitates learning. In addition to the benchmarking data, the site provided a wealth of information on the technical aspects and financials of investment opportunities and forecasts of energy price developments.
Shifting Paradigms supported Cargill with the development of the intranet site and its content. At the end of this interim assignment, the site was launched with broader energy efficiency team in Antwerp.
